Even if one’s fetters are loosened, it is hard to avoid. Although the defilement of desire is not desirable, it appears to be. It creates obstacles and functions by assembling many discordant factors. To know, see, perceive, realize, understand, and be skillful about this is called knowing the defilement of desire. That is what the Thus-Gone One correctly understands. When the Thus-Gone One is asked about the knowledge of the defilement of desire, he can respond for an eon, and so forth, up until…. Therefore, he will enjoy this temple with its sandalwood courtyard. As for the origin, cessation, and path, they are as previously taught.
