“Householder, you may wonder how the Thus-Gone One correctly understands the knowledge of exhaustion. Householder, the Thus-Gone One correctly understands it in the following manner. When disturbing emotions are exhausted, defilements are exhausted. When defilements are exhausted, disturbing emotions are exhausted. In that way suffering is exhausted. Whoever exhausts suffering attains nirvāṇa, and does not tread on the path of saṃsāra. In this way the Thus-Gone One correctly understands exhaustion. To know, … and be skillful about this is called knowing exhaustion. When the Thus-Gone One is asked about the knowledge of exhaustion, he can respond for an eon, and so forth, up until…. Therefore, he will enjoy this temple with its sandalwood courtyard. As for the origin, cessation, and path, they are as previously taught.

དེ་བཞིན་དུ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་དབང་པོ་ཤེས་པ་འགོག་པ་ཤེས་པ་ཇི་སྙེད་པ་ཉིད་ཀྱང་ མིང་ཙམ་དུ་དེ་ལྟར་རབ་ཏུ་མཁྱེན་ཏོ། ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་ལ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་དབང་པོ་ཤེས་པ་འགོག་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་ལམ་ཤེས་པ་འདི་ལྟར་རབ་ཏུ་མཁྱེན་ཏེ། འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ་དཔེར་ན། སྒྱུ་མའི་སྐྱེས་བུའི་རྨི་ལམ་ན་ལམ་རྙེད་པ་ཇི་སྙེད་པ་ཉིད་ནི་མིང་ ཙམ་སྟེ། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་དབང་པོ་ཤེས་པ་འགོག་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་ལམ་ཤེས་པ་ཇི་སྙེད་པ་ཉིད་ཀྱང་མིང་ཙམ་དུ་དེ་ལྟར་རབ་ཏུ་མཁྱེན་ཏོ། ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་ལ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་ལུས་ཀྱི་ལས་ཤེས་པ་འདི་ལྟར་རབ་ཏུ་མཁྱེན་ ཏེ། འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ་དཔེར་ན། སྒྱུ་མའི་སྐྱེས་བུའི་རྨི་ལམ་ན་ལུས་བསྐྱོད་པ་ཤེས་པ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་ལུས་ཀྱི་ལས་ཤེས་པ་ཇི་སྙེད་པ་ཉིད་ཀྱང་མིང་ཙམ་དུ་དེ་ལྟར་རབ་ཏུ་མཁྱེན་ཏོ། ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་ལ་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་ལུས་ཀྱི་ལས་ཤེས་པ་ཀུན་འབྱུང་བ་ ཤེས་པ་འདི་ལྟར་རབ་ཏུ་མཁྱེན་ཏེ། འདི་ལྟ་སྟེ་དཔེར་ན། སྒྱུ་མའི་སྐྱེས་བུའི་རྨི་ལམ་ན་བྱ་བ་ལ་འཇུག་པ་ཇི་སྙེད་པ་ཉིད་ནི་མིང་ཙམ་སྟེ།
