Abhinavagupta's prose digest of the Tantrāloka. Sanskrit via GRETIL (KSTS 17, input by Oliver Hellwig).
Textual history
Abhinavagupta composed the Tantrasāra as a condensed prose restatement of the Tantrāloka for students who needed the system's architecture without the full verse elaboration. It follows the same doctrinal arc — from the nature of absolute consciousness through initiation, ritual, and liberation — in a more compact register.
Printed as KSTS 17 (and related Nirṇaya Sāgara materials), the work entered modern Indology through Kashmiri manuscript witnesses. The GRETIL encoding is based on that print tradition (input by Oliver Hellwig).
