Refunds & Cancellation
Last updated 28 July 2026
How to cancel, what happens to your work afterwards, and when we refund.
Cancelling
Cancel any time from your account’s billing page. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for — we do not cut you off the moment you cancel. After that the account reverts to the free tier.
What happens to your work
Nothing is deleted when you downgrade. Saved items, drafts, translations, and Ask history remain, and published translations stay published. If you are over a free-tier limit, existing content stays readable and you simply cannot add more until you are back under it.
You can export everything as JSON at any time, on any plan, from your account page.
Refunds
We refund in these cases:
- Within 14 days of a first subscription — full refund, no reason needed. EU and UK consumers have this right by law; we extend it to everyone.
- Accidental renewal — if you did not intend to renew and have not meaningfully used the service since, tell us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it.
- Extended outage or a fault that stopped you using a paid feature — pro-rata refund for the affected period.
- Duplicate or incorrect charge — refunded in full.
Outside these, we do not usually refund part-used periods, because you keep access for the whole period you paid for. If your situation is unusual, write to us — we would rather sort it out than have you file a dispute.
Annual plans
Annual plans follow the same 14-day rule from the date of purchase or renewal. After that, cancelling stops the following year’s charge and you keep access for the remainder of the year you paid for.
Failed payments
If a payment fails we email you and retry over roughly three weeks. Your access continues during that window — cards expire, and that is not a reason to lock you out. If every retry fails, the subscription ends and the account moves to the free tier. You can resubscribe any time.
How to ask
Email [support@yourdomain] from your account address, with the date and amount of the charge. We reply within 3 working days. Approved refunds return to the original payment method and typically take 5–10 days to appear, depending on your bank.
