Evaṁ me sutaṁ— ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṁ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme …pe… sattimāni, bhikkhave, balāni. Katamāni satta?

The powers of faith, energy, conscience, prudence, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom. These are the seven powers. The powers are faith and energy, conscience and prudence,

Saddhābalaṁ, vīriyabalaṁ, hirībalaṁ, ottappabalaṁ, satibalaṁ, samādhibalaṁ, paññābalaṁ. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, satta balānīti. Saddhābalaṁ vīriyañca, hirī ottappiyaṁ balaṁ;
