“Giving what do you give strength? Giving what do you give beauty? Giving what do you give happiness? Giving what do you give vision?
PL
“Kiṁdado balado hoti, kiṁdado hoti vaṇṇado; Kiṁdado sukhado hoti, kiṁdado hoti cakkhudo;

And who is the giver of all? Please answer my question.” “Giving food you give strength. Giving clothes you give beauty.

Ko ca sabbadado hoti, taṁ me akkhāhi pucchito”ti. “Annado balado hoti, vatthado hoti vaṇṇado;
EN
Giving a vehicle you give happiness. Giving a lamp you give vision. And the giver of all is the one who gives monastic quarters.

Yānado sukhado hoti, dīpado hoti cakkhudo. So ca sabbadado hoti, yo dadāti upassayaṁ;
EN
But one who teaches the Dhamma gives the gift of freedom from death.”
PL
Amataṁ dado ca so hoti, yo dhammamanusāsatī”ti.
